The Reasons For Insufficient Tablet Hardness And Solutions
In our daily operation of the tablet press, it is inevitable that the tablet press is not hard enough, which is a very upsetting thing. Let's analyze the reasons and solutions for the difficulty of tablet pressing of the table press machine.
(1) Reason: when the water content is not appropriate, the water content is too little or the elasticity of dry particles is high. As the drug containing crystal water loses more crystal water during the drying process, it becomes brittle and easily cracked. But if there are too many, the hardness will decrease.
Solution: Water content should be controlled according to different varieties during pelleting. If the prepared particles are too dry, spray an appropriate amount of dilute ethanol (50%-60%), mix evenly, and press the tablet.
(2)Reason: the physical properties of the drug itself. It is determined by brittleness, plasticity, elasticity and hardness. For example, when an elastic material is compressed, it becomes smaller, and after decompression, it expands due to elasticity, so the tablet breaks.
Solution: For different drugs, different pressure and other excipients should be added to control the tablet.
(3)Cause: Mechanical factor. If the punch length is not uniform, or the pressure is not adjusted properly, the press rotates too fast, or the particles in the hopper are too long or too short.
Solution: adjust the pressure of the tablet press machine, replace the punch of the tablet press machine, the speed of the tablet press, the speed of the material.
