Before closing the lid, the mechanism bends the latch of the box and then a push plate pushes the lid to bend, inserting the latch into the box and fastening the latch. The lid closing action is a key action and its completion is highly dependent on the structure of the carton and the accuracy of the machine adjustment.

The horizontal cartoning packing machine is also divided into four stages: lowering the box, opening, filling and closing the lid. However, the way in which the carton is loaded is different from that of the vertical cartoning packing machine. The general situation of vertical cartoning is that the object is loaded from the top to the bottom or from the bottom to the top, while the horizontal cartoning packing machine generally has the carton lying down and the product is pushed into the carton from the side, which requires the product to be more regular and convenient to push. This way the product is required to be more regular and easy to push. This type of cartoning is used for mask, food and daily necessities, and the product is output horizontally by the conveyor belt. Vertical cartoning packing machines, on the other hand, are designed for vertical output by a conveyor belt.
